It’s not often that people follow their dreams, but Tiddle E. Winks, Sonoma’s only Vintage 5 & Dime, literally started with a dream. For over 15 years Miss Winks owned a rubber stamp and sticker store in Los Angeles’ famed Farmers Market. One night she dreamt she was working at a famous sticker factory in Northern California. She took that dream as a good omen, and moved north, where she went to work for Mrs. Grossman’s sticker company. Miss Winks settled in Sonoma, but soon realized that although the commute past the cows was quite lovely, she really didn’t want to leave the charming little town each morning. Miss Winks came up with the idea to open a new store. She happily opened Tiddle E. Winks in 2005, located in downtown Sonoma just off the historic plaza.
